Who We Are
Psalms 107:19-20
“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction.”

Healing Tree Ministries was founded in 2007 by Jim & Peggy Underwood of Parker, Colorado. This organization is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation that offers hope to people struggling during the Christmas season.

Healing Tree Ministries is operated 100% by volunteers and EVERY dollar donated goes toward the procurement, decoration, or distribution of the Healing Trees.
Spreading Hope, One Tree at a Time
Healing Tree Ministries originated in December 2007 following a visit to the hospital to spend time with our dear friend, Bill Voner, who was suffering from colon cancer. Since he was unable to spend Christmas at home, my wife, Peggy and I decided to get him a Christmas tree for his hospital room. As Peggy began to decorate a 32” fiber optic Christmas Tree with candy canes and decorations an exciting idea was placed on her heart. This God-inspired idea was to put encouraging healing scriptures from the Bible on the tree. The response to the tree was incredible. Not only did it encourage Bill, but also his friends, family and the hospital staff. Bill went home to be with the Lord a few months later, but the tree built especially for him was the start of something wonderful.

After seeing the impact of this one tree, we established Healing Tree Ministries. Through the generous donations of individuals and businesses, we were able to construct and distribute thousands of trees around the world since the inception of the ministry. The response to the trees has been overwhelming and varies by person. God has used these trees to touch people in their time of need.

On April 13, 2010, my dear Peggy went home to be with the Lord at the age of 47. Her love for God, her passion for Christmas, and her heart for hurting people live on through this ministry. Ironically, throughout the struggle with her own health, a Healing Tree was a reminder of the hope and encouragement of Christ in our home.

Regardless of the circumstance a person is going through, the hope of Christ can be shared in a gift of love to encourage them. Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support of Healing Tree Ministries. Help us spread hope, one tree at a time!

In His Service,

Jim Underwood
